Feeling Refreshed

Good morning, friends! Hope you had a great weekend. I certainly enjoyed every minute of mine. It was a relaxin' 3 days without my two toddlers. Let's be honest motherhood is wonderful but mini breaks are too! I got to spend much needed time with my oldest son, Breyen. I also had plenty of time to check a few things off my self-care to do list like painting my nails, deep conditioning my coif, clearing some clutter, and sleeping in late. It was all kinda awesome. How did you all spend your weekend? Hope that it was fun and relaxing. Enjoy my weekend recap! xo

FRIDAY

Spent our Friday night indoors since the town was flooded with rain and enjoyed one of my favorite southern meals, a Low Country Boil, on the back patio just before the thunderstorm began.

Made a new faux marble photography backdrop! Can hardly wait to make some new stock photos with it.  Gave it a test run with this beautiful succulent plant! Not to shabby for a $10 and about 10 minutes of work.

SATURDAY

My Saturday morning started with a meditation and yoga for 45 (uninterrupted) minutes.  Then, I was able to knock out several chores and cleaned out our closets. Packed up several bags of clothing and shoes to take to our local Goodwill. Afterwards, I hit the town with my son and his best friend. We stopped by a local community event for children with special needs,  the  2nd Annual De'Michael & Friends Day.  There was a lot of fun activities and bouncy houses. A great event and an amazing turn out.  The rest of the day we chilled out downtown and Breyen snapped this these photos of me.

*GLO-UP* REALIZING THAT I'M NOT FOR EVERYBODY AND EVERYONE IS NOT FOR ME. EVERYONE ISN'T HERE FOR ME. AND THAT IS OK. I'M HERE FOR ME. (Yoki Leonora Bootie can be found here )

SUNDAY

Lazed around all morning eating waffles and watching "Batman vs. Superman" before going up to Savannah, GA about an hour drive from our home. We strolled through the Keller Flea Market and shops.

Easy like Sunday morning...fuel for the day.

Usie! He likes to match my fly. ;-) Sweet simplicity brings so much joy.

Quality alone time with my first born is always good for our hearts and souls. This kid is the best of me. He has humbled me daily for the last 9 years and grew me up in way that I never could've grown if not for being his mama.

I'm so thankful for this weekend to refresh. Being a mother can be exhausting and downright draining. Every few months I get this kind break and I make the most of every moment. Just doing anything that I want and getting back to feeling normal and re-energized.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today...hope that you have a great week and find time for the things that make you feel refreshed.

xo,
