Movie Night At Home
As my children get older and are pulling away a little, it is becoming more important that we find cool ways to spend quality time. Most days after their homework is done, the three of them race out the door to play with friends in our backyard. However, I decided to do something a little different on one of my nights off this week.
We haven't been to see a movie in about three months and it wasn't the best time. Popcorn spills, several trips to the restroom, and one little actually fell asleep. I missed most of the movie and left feeling so overwhelmed by the experience.
Instead of going out, I planned a fun and simple movie night in.
Sticking up a few balloons put the kids in the mood to party. Also, made sure there were plenty of pillows and fuzzy blankets for everyone to be cozy.
Snacks were easily accessible. They could dig in and fix they're own cups of toffee popcorn or salt + vinegar chips (a family favorite). Washing it all down with some lemonade. Yum!
Just the sun began to go down, I turned on one of my childhood favorite movies, Jumanji. It's a classic and you can never go wrong with Robin Williams. He's simply the best. I love when it's my turn to choose the movie. It is the perfect chance to introduce my kids to the films that made my childhood amazing.
Completely intrigued! What are your favorite childhood movies? Some of mine include Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, Karate Kid, Beauty & the Beast, Alladin, and the list goes on!
This cutie was fighting sleep but couldn't take her eyes off the screen.
What a fun night!
P.S. Doesn't matter if you stay in or head out. Have a great weekend, friends!
